Our work
Our work is divided into three broad divisions: (1) Corporate, (2) Litigation (3) Commercial and Arbitration (4) SEBI Legal Compliance (5) Collective Investment Schemes and (6) Non-Profit (NGO)
(1) Corporate
Our corporate division has been involved in Initial Public Offerings (IPO) and further offering of securities by Companies, Letter of Offer by acquirers, Delisting of securities, Preferential issue of securities and investment by Private Equity Investors in listed and unlisted companies.
(2) Litigation
We appear on behalf of intermediaries, listed companies, CIS, Mutual Funds and investors before the Securities and Exchange Board of India in proceedings under the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 and the Rules and Regulations framed thereunder including Adjudication Proceedings, Enquiry Proceedings and Proceedings before the Chairman and Whole Time Members. We file appeals and or writ petitions in and appear before the Securities Appellate Tribunal, The High Court of Bombay and the Supreme Court in matters relating to the SEBI Act and the Rules and Regulations framed thereunder. We also file matters and appear before Arbitral Tribunals/Arbitrators appointed by the National Stock Exchange of India and the Bombay Stock Exchange and before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
(3) Commercial
Our commercial division offers a broad range of expertise, including litigation and dispute resolution, real estate, tax, technology, media and telecommunications, intellectual property and trusts. We render legal assistance in drafting, due diligence and opinions to companies and firms seeking registration with SEBI as intermediaries, making Initial and further offering of Securities. We have acted as advisors in Private Equity Deals of many companies. Besides commercial advise to corporates, we advise Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) including Corporate Foundations and Trusts regarding Corporate Social Responsibility and compliance with the Indian Companies Act, 2013
(4) SEBI Legal Compliance
We assist listed companies and registered intermediaries to comply with applicable laws and regulations including Bye Laws, Rules and Regulations of the Stock Exchanges and SEBI’s Rules and Regulations. We have associated with Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries while offering these services.

Joby Mathew worked with the SEBI has gained substantial expertise in SEBI law practice. Joby also worked with J Sagar Associates one of the prestigious Law firms in India. Prior to joining SEBI, Joby Mathew practised as an Advocate at the Kerala High Court and also worked with the South Indian Bank Limited as a Legal Officer. Joby received his LL.B. degree from Mahatma Gandhi University and while at college was adjudged best student lawyer in a National Moot Court Competition. Joby is also a President Scout.
